    Information

How does a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment work?

The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment for the face begins with a consultation with a physician. During this discussion, your health status will be assessed, and a personalized treatment plan will be developed based on your specific needs.

The treatment starts with a small blood draw. This sample is then centrifuged to separate the different components of the blood, allowing for the isolation of the platelet-rich plasma. The plasma is then injected into the targeted areas of the face.

After the treatment, it is essential to follow the post-treatment recommendations provided by your physician to optimize results.

    FAQ
    • Is PRP facial treatment suitable for deep wrinkles?

PRP treatment is particularly effective for treating fine and moderate wrinkles, but it can also improve the appearance of deeper wrinkles by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. While PRP helps reduce deep wrinkles and restore skin firmness, it is often recommended to combine it with other treatments, such as neuromodulator injections, for more pronounced and lasting results.

    • What are the post-treatment recommendations?

To ensure optimal recovery and maximize the results of your treatment, here are the recommendations to follow:

      – Wait 12 hours before washing your face to avoid dislodging the PRP.

      – For 7 days after the treatment, or at least 3 days, avoid anti-inflammatory medications such as aspirin, Advil®, Motrin®, Naproxen, Voltaren®, or others. Tylenol® is allowed if necessary, as inflammation is a normal part of the healing process.

      – If possible, stop smoking or reduce tobacco consumption for at least 3 days after the treatment to promote better healing.

      – Avoid intense exercise or sweating for 24 hours, as the skin’s pores remain open after the treatment.

      – Avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours after the treatment and apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher (preferably mineral-based).

      – If scabs form, avoid scratching them.

      – Avoid retinol or AHA-based products for 7 days after the treatment.

      – You may apply makeup after 24 hours if desired.

      – Cleanse your skin with a gentle cleanser the evening of your treatment and be sure to hydrate afterward.

How much does a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment cost?

The quantity of product to be injected is always the physician's decision. A deposit of $30 is required when booking your appointment. This amount will be refunded when you attend your clinic visit.
