If you’re looking for a way to get rid of unwanted hair, there are several options available to you. Each method has its own advantages and disadvantages, so it can be difficult to decide which one is best for you.

Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses intense pulses of light to permanently remove unwanted hair.

Intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment uses multiple wavelengths of light that are less focused than laser. Waxing and razor hair removal is the traditional method of hair removal.

In this article, we will explore the different types of hair removal and present the advantages and disadvantages of each.

SHAVING

Advantages

Razor hair removal is relatively inexpensive, easy to perform and can be done at home.

Disadvantages

The disadvantages are that it can cause razor burn or ingrown hairs. In addition, shaving is usually done several times a week depending on the hairiness of each person and the areas to be shaved.

WAXING

Advantages

The advantages of waxing are that it removes hair at the root and lasts longer than shaving. It can also make hair thinner and less visible.

Disadvantages

The disadvantages of waxing are that it can be painful and can sometimes cause ingrown hairs.

INTENSE PULSED LIGHT (IPL)

Advantages

The advantage of IPL is that it is a non-invasive treatment that can be used to remove hair.

Disadvantages

The disadvantages of Intense Pulsed Light are that it can be expensive and it is not suitable for everyone because it is only for white skin with dark hair. In addition, this method presents more risks of skin lesions and complications and a lack of consistency in the results.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

Advantages

The advantages of laser hair removal are that it offers a long-term reduction in hair growth. It is relatively painless and can be suitable for many skin types. This is a quick method where you can see results of up to 20% hair reduction in the first session.

Disadvantages

The only downside to laser hair removal is that it can be expensive, but it is a good investment in the long term, as in 5 or 6 treatments, this technology removes an average of 80% of the hair in the treated area.

If you want to get rid of hours of product purchase, preparation, application, pain, discomfort and clean-up, the best way to get rid of hair is still laser hair removal.
